Job summary

Autism Queensland Rockhampton School invites casual Teacher Aides available across Monday to Friday to join a close-knit team of professionals. You will support planning, teaching and assessment in flexible learning environments for autistic students, working within small class groups and with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in autism education environment is preferred.
• Cert III in Education support or equivalent qualification is required.
• Availability across multiple days of the week for casual shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, teaching and assessment in an alternative, flexible model of learning.
• Provide assistance to a class of students with neurodiverse needs.
• Contribute to wellbeing and holistic growth through supportive learning environments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including therapists, wellbeing and behaviour support practitioners.

Autism Queensland Rockhampton School is looking for casual Teacher Aides who are available across Monday-Friday to join a close-knit team of professionals.

Our P-12 independent school has six campuses across the state and is built on a strong foundation of Specialist Teachers, Aides and Allied Health Professionals. Working in a collaborative environment, our dedicated teams offer a tailored, neurodiversity affirming approach to the learning experience of diverse learners.

Utilising functional skills and assessments, our Teacher Aides will provide support to a class of 6 students with neurodiverse affirming practices and principles across a range of environments. There will be a focus on enhancing the wellbeing and holistic growth of young people through the development of supportive learning environments, quality communication and effective classroom management.

As aTeacher Aide, you'll support the planning, teaching and assessment in an alternative, flexible model of learning for autistic students, embracing a holistic, strengths-based, and neurodiversity affirming approach as we strive to empower each student to thrive in an environment that fosters their individual growth.
