Job summary

Aspect Hunter School in Thornton, NSW, is seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our education community. The role is full-time, permanent or maximum term through 2027, with a base salary of AUD 94,155–AUD 133,009 plus a special education allowance of AUD 3,866 per annum, pro‑rata for part-time staff.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to tailor learning programs for students on the autism spectrum, collaborating closely with families, teachers, and therapists to support positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Special Education qualifications are preferred.
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with other intellectual disability is desirable.
• NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment is required.
• Depending on location, a current driver's licence may be essential.
• A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence is desirable.
• You may be required to provide an international police clearance.

Responsibilities

• You will create and deliver learning programs tailored to each student's needs in a small-class setting.
• You will collaborate with families, teacher aides and professionals such as school psychologists and therapists to support student development.
• You will contribute to an inclusive, evidence-based education environment and monitor student progress.

Hunter School in Thornton, Australia is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational community. Aspect is a leader in education for children on the autism spectrum. Working at Aspect means you will be supported by a team of passionate professional educators. You will help create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice in autism. Class sizes are small and you always have the assistance of a dedicated teacher aide. You will work closely in a team that includes the student, family, teacher aide and other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs. About the School:

Aspect HunterSchool provides placement forapproximately 270 students on the autism spectrumfrom Kindergarten to year 12 at its main school at Thornton, and across its satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Newcastle, Hunter and Port Macquarie regions. Aspect Hunter School also offers a Distance Education program for students on the autism spectrum in years 3 to 8 from across NSW.
