Job summary

Aspect Western Sydney School in NSW is recruiting full-time teaching roles for students on the autism spectrum. You will contribute to individualized learning programs within a supportive, multidisciplinary team including teachers, teacher aides, psychologists, speech therapists and occupational therapists.

We offer a base salary of AUD 94,155 to AUD 133,009 per year plus an annual special education allowance of AUD 3,866, with potential pro rata adjustments for part-time work.

Qualifications

• Special Education qualifications are preferred.
• Primary Trained Teacher.
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with other intellectual disability (desirable).
• NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
• Depending on the school's location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver's licence
• You may be required to provide an international police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support learning for students on the autism spectrum in small classes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs.
• Contribute to a learning environment tailored to individual student needs using evidence-based practices.

What you will do:

Aspect is a leader in education for children on the autism spectrum. Working at Aspect means you will be supported by a team of passionate professional educators. You will help create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice in autism. Class sizes are small and you always have the assistance of a dedicated teacher aide. You will work closely in a team that includes the student, family, teacher aide and other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs. About the School:

Aspect Western SydneySchool provides placement for approximately160 students on the autism spectrumfrom Kindergarten to year 12. Our main site is located at Wetherill Park with 14 satellite classeswithin the Catholic and Department of Education Schools acrossthe Western and South Western regions of Sydney.
