Job summary

Carinity Education – Southside in Sunnybank seeks a compassionate Teacher to develop and deliver quality learning, build positive relationships, and support students in achieving personal and academic goals. The role requires Monday–Friday availability from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM and aligns with our mission-driven Christian ethos.

You will plan project-based lessons, implement ILPs, support wellbeing, and model respectful, pro-social behaviour while working with marginalised youth and families

Qualifications

• Current QLD Teacher Registration is required.
• Experience providing support/education for marginalised young people and those affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Junior and Senior Humanities and Early Childhood Studies.
• TCI training and Blue Card suitability.
• Knowledge or willingness to learn trauma-informed practices in education.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging learning experiences through Project Based Learning, planned lessons, and effective classroom management tailored to individual student needs.
• Develop and implement ILPs, ensuring behavioural and educational needs are met and progress is monitored.
• Build strong relationships and provide student support, modelling positive behaviour and supporting wellbeing.
• Manage student behaviour with proactive strategies to maintain safety and engagement in classrooms and supervision.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Teacher to join ourCarinity school community. As a Teacher, you will develop anddeliver quality, innovative teaching, and support programs forstudents, building positive relationships with all students andproviding assistance in achievement of students’ personal andacademic goals. For this role, it is required to undertakeTeacher’s work in ways that provides a role model for youth in theeveryday life of the campus community.

This position requires availability Monday to Friday each weekbetween 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM, commencing in 2027.

Your day-to-day will involve:

• Deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences throughProject Based Learning, planned lessons, and effectiveclassroom management tailored to individual student needs.
• Develop and implement (Individual Learning Plans (ILPs),ensuring behavioural and educational needs are met and progressis monitored.
• Build strong relationships and provide student support,demonstrating positive role modelling, guiding behaviour, andsupporting wellbeing.
• Manage student behaviour effectively, using proactivestrategies in classrooms and during supervision to maintainsafety and positive engagement.

About you:

You are passionate aboutsupporting youth and their families. You bring empathy, excellentcommunication skills, and the ability to collaborate with students,staff, and external professionals. You are organised, adaptable,and proactive in fostering a safe, supportive, and values-drivenschool environment.

• Current QLD Teacher Registration
• Experience in providing support and education formarginalised young people and those suffering as a result ofAdverse Childhood Experiences
• Demonstrated experience in teaching Junior and SeniorHumanities and Early Childhood Studies
• Trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
• Suitability for Working with Children card (Blue Card)
• Experience and/or knowledge in trauma informed practices inan educational setting or willingness to learn
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) isadvantageous
