Job summary

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is seeking dedicated teachers for Aspect Treetop School in Adelaide. You will join a vibrant education team dedicated to autism-specific learning, with small class sizes, teacher aides, and multi-disciplinary support.

Rosters are full-time for 2027, with pro-rata base salary indicated and inclusive of a special education allowance, plus super. TRB SA registration and WWCC clearance are required; international clearance may be requested.

Qualifications

• TRB SA registration to teach in SA.
• Special Education qualifications preferred, but all applications considered.
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with intellectual disability desirable.
• South Australian Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
• International police clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create learning environments tailored to individual needs with evidence-based approaches.
• Collaborate with families, teacher aides, school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists.
• Deliver quality learning programs in small classes with dedicated support to students on the autism spectrum.

Aspect Treetop School providesplacement for approximately 90 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 16 years providing small class sizes and additional staff support.

Aspect Treetop School is proud to be the only autism-specific education program for students from Reception to Year 10 in Adelaide. We understand the uniqueness of every child, value their individual strengths, interests and aspirations and we celebrate the ‘different brilliant’ of every child.

• Full-time, maximum term teaching positions (5 days per week) commencing 2027
• 1 x 12-month position (all of 2027) and 1 x 6-month position (Semester 1, 2027)

What you will do

Aspect is a leader in education for children on the autism spectrum. Working at Aspect means you will be supported by a team of passionate professional educators. You will help create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice in autism. Class sizes are small and you always have the assistance of a dedicated teacher aide. You will work closely in a team that includes the student, family, teacher aide and other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs. This wrap-around multi-disciplinary approach to support means that you will gain new skills and work experience that can help you reach your professional goals.
