Job summary

Thales Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to projects, bids and R&D programs. You will analyze user requirements, decompose architectures, and develop functional/physical solutions while producing thorough documentation.

Responsibilities include implementing and verifying solutions, presenting to customers, planning engineering activities, and collaborating in cross-disciplinary teams within product programs.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree suitable to achieve Engineers Australia membership (MIEAust).
• Experience with a Systems Engineering lifecycle.
• Experience with authoring/reviewing technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
• Ability to work independently within governance frameworks and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to engage stakeholders to deliver in a complex matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Completing assigned tasks in projects, bids and R&D programs.
• Conduct requirements analysis based on user/customer requirements and core technology components.
• Analyze alternatives and develop functional and physical solutions, including test/demonstration cases.
• Decompose architecture into sub-systems and elements.
• Implement and verify solutions.
• Produce engineering reports, specifications and design documents.
• Verify architectures and solutions against established requirements.
• Present and demonstrate solutions to customer representatives.
• Plan and execute engineering activities to enable successful completion.
• Work within integrated product teams to ensure development and implementation of related programs.
