Job summary

Thales Australia is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Sydney team. You will lead engineering tasks, coordinate multi-disciplinary efforts, and ensure delivery within cost, schedule and quality targets.

You will guide architecture, requirements, and verification activities, working with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimise project execution and system lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Formal degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience in Defence or major projects preferred.
• Membership or eligibility for engineering bodies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering, design, development and integration within projects.
• Provide direction, mentoring and resource coordination to meet milestones.
• Guide technical teams on integration, requirements and architecture.
• Optimize project execution and lead system engineering reviews.
• Define and apply system development lifecycle and processes.
• Identify risks, implement mitigations and report outcomes.
• Participate in technical workshops, reviews and bid cost estimates.
