Whether your expertise lies in requirements, systems design, architecture, integration or verification, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to capability that directly supports Australia's national security objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale Defence program while developing your expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile delivery and System-of-Systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer's Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Develop and manage system and subsystem requirements within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment
  • Support system architecture, interface definition, integration and verification activities
  • Produce engineering artefacts including requirements, design documentation, specifications and trade studies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, SMEs and Defence stakeholders to support capability development and delivery
  • Contribute to engineering reviews, design activities and technical decision-making processes
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of modern engineering practices across the program
What you’ll bring

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, verification or validation activities
  • Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody or similar
  • Experience working on complex systems within Defence, aerospace, communications or other high-technology environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams while managing competing priorities
  • Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
  • NV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
