Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Systems and Configuration Lead to join our Defence Programmes Group (DPG) team at Kings Park.

Reporting to the Contract & Business Manager, you'll lead configuration implementation, systems analysis and system improvement activities supporting our Defence programmes. You'll oversee the ongoing development, integration and optimisation of systems including Windchill, AMT and in-house applications, ensuring business processes and system outputs align with Defence contract requirements and standards.

Working closely with business users, internal departments, IT developers and external vendors, you'll identify opportunities to improve workflows, resolve technical issues and deliver practical, user-focused solutions. You'll also lead and support a small team, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong analytical and systems expertise with stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, and wants to contribute to the delivery of critical Defence programme requirements.

In this role you will:

  • Lead configuration and systems analysis activities to ensure compliance with Defence contract requirements and applicable standards.
  • Maintain configuration and business data, including equipment build standards, baselines and records relating to equipment and platforms.
  • Lead the assessment and implementation of additional platforms within existing software solutions supporting Defence contracts.
  • Manage and improve systems including Windchill, AMT and other business applications to streamline workflows and increase productivity.
  • Coordinate system development, integrations, testing, releases and implementation activities in collaboration with IT developers and subject matter experts.
  • Act as a key contact and super user for Windchill and AMT, supporting users and resolving system and process issues.
  • Work with business users and managers to align system functionality, data and reporting with Commonwealth and Defence requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal branches/departments, customers and external vendors to resolve issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Lead, coach and support team members, promoting accountability, collaboration and high standards of performance.
  • Work with DPG managers and IT representatives to map, review and improve business processes and system workflows.
  • Contribute to DPG business development opportunities and support the delivery of broader team objectives.

About You:

  • Experience or formal training in Configuration Management and/or Systems Analysis.
  • A combination of configuration management expertise, systems analysis capability and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with Windchill will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or working within a team, supporting collaboration, accountability and effective delivery.
  • Experience in process mapping, business and functional documentation, system testing, releases, integrations and system improvements.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, organised and proactive approach, with a commitment to delivering reliable, user-focused solutions.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance. Australian citizenship is required.
