Job summary

EOS Australia Pty Ltd, based at our EOS Melbourne office in Clayton, is seeking a Systems Administrator to ensure reliable operation, security and performance of servers, networks and business systems that underpin our distribution, technical support and warehouse operations.

This full-time, permanent role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys keeping critical systems running smoothly and supporting staff in a fast-paced, technology-driven business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant systems administration or ICT support experience.
  • Sound knowledge of server operating systems, networking and security practices.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance and availability of servers, networks and storage.
  • Implement and administer security measures including firewalls and access controls.
  • Install, configure and maintain server OS and business applications.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions per ICT policy.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network faults promptly.
  • Perform regular data backups and restores for business continuity.
  • Plan for outages and coordinate timely resolutions to keep systems operational.
  • Evaluate upgrades to ICT hardware, software and networks.

Based at our EOS Melbourne office in Clayton, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for the reliable operation, security and performance of the servers, networks and business systems that underpin our distribution, technical support and warehouse operations. Task & responsibilities
  • Monitor the performance, availability and capacity of servers, networks and storage infrastructure to ensure reliable day-to-day operations across the business.
  • Implement and administer network and system security measures, including firewalls, anti-virus protection and access controls, to safeguard the integrity of company and customer information.
  • Install, configure and maintain server operating systems, business applications and the networked hardware that supports our distribution, technical support and warehouse functions.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions, controlling access to servers and business systems in line with the company’s ICT security policies.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network faults, replacing defective components and restoring services with minimal disruption to the business.
  • Perform and verify scheduled data backups and carry out data restoration when required to maintain business continuity.
  • Plan for and respond to service outages and technical incidents, coordinating timely resolutions to keep critical systems operational.
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement upgrades to ICT hardware, software and network resources, assessing emerging technologies that improve performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, IT maintenance standards and operating procedures, and provide support and training to staff on new systems and equipment.
Qualification & experience
Qualifications
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
Experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant full-time experience in systems administration or a comparable ICT support role.
Skills
  • Sound working knowledge of server operating systems, networking, and network and system security practices.
  • Experience with data backup, restoration and system monitoring to maintain business continuity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical, detail-focused approach to troubleshooting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support and train non-technical staff.
