Job summary

Redpath Group in Australia is seeking an experienced IT professional focused on project management and system implementation. The role involves researching, planning, and delivering the technical components of company projects, plus monitoring and maintaining IT infrastructure and responding to security incidents.

You will support other system administrators, work with cross‑functional teams, and seek ongoing improvements to Redpath’s IT systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a system administrator role.
• Demonstrated project management experience with delegation.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of IT security practices.
• Solid understanding of network topologies and design.
• Desirable virtualization knowledge and migration experience.
• Working towards or holding an MCSA certification.

Position Summary

This position is focused on project management and implementation. Responsibilities include researching, planning, and implementing the technical portion of company projects, monitoring and maintenance of IT infrastructure and respond to security and other critical events. This role is also expected to assist other system administrators with daily procedures and handling escalated or surplus incidents. There is also an expectation that the incumbent will research and seek opportunities for the on-going improvement of Redpath’s IT systems.

Planning and Provisioning

• Develop and write project scheduling and implementation plans
• Action project implementation in isolation or within a team
• Manage milestones, goals and communication within the business and IT team
• Work with other departments and staff to understand project requirements
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.

Operations and Support

• Administration of local and global applications services
• Scope, schedule and deploy IT projects
• Manage vendors and contractors to meet company goals
• Security Monitoring to identify and mitigate any potential intrusions
• User and service account management
• Investigating and troubleshooting IT issuesRepair and recover from hardware/software failures, coordinating with affected customers
• Assist with developing and enforcing I.T system policies
• Support training and content for new staff and for new project implementations

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a system administrator role
• Must have evidence of strong project management experience with delegation
• Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft cloud services
• Must have excellent working knowledge of IT Security
• Strong business acumen for understanding of standard company processes and practices
• Strong understanding of network topologies and design
• Desirable to have excellent working knowledge of virtualization and migration
• Have, or working towards, MCSA certification
