Job summary

Redpath Group in Brisbane is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager/ SysAdmin to plan and implement IT projects, monitor infrastructure, and respond to security events. You will assist other IT staff and help improve Redpath's systems.

The role emphasizes planning, provisioning, security monitoring, vendor management, and policy enforcement, with training and development opportunities for staff on new projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a system administrator role.
• Evidence of strong project management experience with delegation.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft cloud services.
• Excellent working knowledge of IT Security.
• Strong business acumen for understanding standard company processes and practices.
• Strong understanding of network topologies and design.
• Desirable: virtualization and migration knowledge.
• Have, or working towards, MCSA certification.

Job Description

The Redpath Group is a leading mining contractor with almost 10,000 employees on projects across the globe. We specialise in shaft sinking, mine development, contract mining, raiseboring, underground construction, engineering & technical services, and specialty services in the mining and construction sectors.

Position Summary

This position is focused on project management and implementation. Responsibilities include researching, planning, and implementing the technical portion of company projects, monitoring and maintenance of IT infrastructure and respond to security and other critical events. This role is also expected to assist other system administrators with daily procedures and handling escalated or surplus incidents.

There is also an expectation that the incumbent will research and seek opportunities for the on-going improvement of Redpath's IT systems.

Responsibilities

Planning and Provisioning

• Develop and write project scheduling and implementation plans
• Action project implementation in isolation or within a team
• Manage milestones, goals and communication within the business and IT team
• Work with other departments and staff to understand project requirements
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.

Operations and Support

• Administration of local and global applications services
• Scope, schedule and deploy IT projects
• Manage vendors and contractors to meet company goals
• Security Monitoring to identify and mitigate any potential intrusions
• User and service account management
• Investigating and troubleshooting IT issues
• Repair and recover from hardware/software failures, coordinating with affected customers
• Assist with developing and enforcing I.T system policies
• Support training and content for new staff and for new project implementations
