Job summary

Cleared is partnering with a Federal Government organisation to identify an experienced Application Administrator / Systems Administrator to support critical Digital Workspace and End User Computing environments within a highly secure setting.

This Canberra-based contract role focuses on application virtualisation, Windows SOE development, SCCM administration, and application lifecycle management, providing technical leadership across enterprise desktop environments for a large government

Qualifications

• Experience administering enterprise Windows desktop environments.
• Experience developing and managing Windows Standard Operating Environments (SOEs).
• Strong SCCM/MECM experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Application Virtualisation technologies.
• Experience with application packaging and software deployment.
• Strong PowerShell scripting capability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement application virtualisation solutions across existing environments.
• Lead the migration and deployment of virtualised applications into test and production environments.
• Identify opportunities to virtualise applications currently embedded within desktop images.
• Develop and implement third-party application patching strategies.
• Integrate patching solutions with SCCM.
• Assess application compliance and develop remediation and patching strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and SME support to Digital Workspace teams.
• Support the development, administration, and ongoing improvement of Windows SOEs.
• Assist with operational support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across desktop environments.
• Deliver knowledge transfer and training to internal stakeholders where required.

Application Administrator / Systems Administrator (TSPV Cleared)

Canberra, ACT | 12-Month Contract | August/September 2026 Start

Cleared is partnering with a Federal Government organisation to identify an experienced Application Administrator / Systems Administrator to support critical Digital Workspace and End User Computing environments within a highly secure setting.

This role will focus on application virtualisation, Windows SOE development, SCCM administration, and application lifecycle management, providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise across enterprise desktop environments.

The Opportunity

Working within the Digital Workspaces team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing application virtualisation solutions, improving application delivery capabilities, and supporting the ongoing development and management of the organisation's Windows Standard Operating Environments (SOE).

You will play a key role in modernising desktop services, enhancing application management processes, and delivering secure, scalable solutions that support a large enterprise user base.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement application virtualisation solutions across existing environments.
• Lead the migration and deployment of virtualised applications into test and production environments.
• Identify opportunities to virtualise applications currently embedded within desktop images.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience administering enterprise Windows desktop environments.
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing Windows SOEs.
• Strong Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Application Virtualisation technologies.
• Experience with application packaging and software deployment.
• Strong PowerShell scripting capability.
• Ability to assess and improve application security and compliance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise end-user computing environments.

Highly Desirable

• Experience delivering application virtualisation projects.
• Experience implementing automated application patching solutions.
• Experience developing secure application delivery portals.
• Exposure to large-scale government or Defence ICT environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.

Security Requirements

Active TSPV or TSPA security clearance required.

Candidates without an active clearance cannot be considered.
