Job summary

Balance Recruitment is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer in Sydney to support the deployment and go-live of the Compass Student Management System on a fixed-term contract.

You will provide hands-on technical assistance, troubleshoot, liaise with staff and vendors, assist with UAT, validate configurations and data, monitor integrations, and deliver informal staff training.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in Systems Administration, Engineering or Application Support with a focus on the Compass Student Management System or similar SaaS enterprise applications.
• Prior exposure to education environments and go-live support activities will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical assistance, troubleshooting and operational support through final preparation and post go-live period.
• Liaise with school staff, internal ICT teams, project members and external vendors to resolve issues and maintain system performance.

Job description

Our client, an established educational institution in Sydney, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the deployment and go-live of the Compass Student Management System. This fixed-term contract (approx. 2 months) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a key technology transition within a dynamic school environment.

As the Systems Engineer, you will play an essential role in ensuring a smooth and successful implementation. You will provide hands-on technical assistance, troubleshooting and operational support throughout the final preparation stages and post go-live period. Acting as a vital escalation point, you will liaise closely with school staff, internal ICT teams, project members and external vendors to rapidly resolve issues and maintain seamless system performance.

Your key responsibilities will include supporting user acceptance testing, validating system configurations and data, monitoring integrations with other platforms, and delivering informal staff training and guidance. The role requires excellent problem-solving capabilities combined with strong communication skills to engage and assist diverse stakeholders effectively.

To excel in this role, you will bring at least 3 years’ experience in Systems Administration, Engineering or Application Support with a focus on the Compass Student Management System or similar SaaS enterprise applications. Prior exposure to education environments and go-live support activities will be highly regarded.
