Currently on the market for an Infrastructure Engineer for an initial 6-month contract for one of our leading clients, located in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will have to go to the Geelong office three times a week.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team supporting one of Australia's most critical industrial and energy operations.

This position has been created to help the infrastructure team manage increasing cyber security remediation requirements, operational support activities and infrastructure uplift initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure systems while partnering with a broad range of technical and operational stakeholders across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on infrastructure role, solving complex technical challenges and building strong relationships within a unique operational environment.

Key responsibilities:

Cyber Security and Vulnerability Remediation

• Investigate and assess infrastructure-related vulnerabilities.
• Review cyber security findings and determine remediation approaches.
• Coordinate remediation activities with internal teams and external vendors.
• Track remediation progress and provide updates to key stakeholders.
• Support cyber security compliance and risk reduction initiatives

Infrastructure Support and Administration

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments.
• Support VMware infrastructure and virtualised environments.
• Perform system upgrades, patching and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, server and operating system issues.
• Assist with incident resolution and operational support activities.

Infrastructure Projects

• Support infrastructure refresh and upgrade programs.
• Assist with workstation and hardware replacement initiatives.
• Participate in laboratory technology uplift projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and modernisation activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with business and operational stakeholders across the refinery.
• Engage with engineering, laboratory and operational teams to understand requirements.
• Partner with vendors and technology providers to support specialised systems.
• Translate technical issues into practical business outcomes.

About You:
