Job summary

Vertical Scope Group is seeking a Countermeasures Engineer for an onsite role at LCRC, RAAF Edinburgh, Adelaide, SA. You will contribute to the development, verification, and assurance of CIED capabilities, collaborating across engineering management, design reviews, testing, and Defence frameworks.

The role requires NV1 (NV2 obtainable) and experience with Defence processes, capability assurance, and RF/communications systems.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience within Defence projects and the One Defence Capability System.
• Engineering qualifications inElectrical/Electronics/Communications/Systems Engineering disciplines.
• Experience with RF/Communications systems design, integration and verification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Engineer in managing the Engineering Management System (EMS) and related processes.
• Conduct design reviews of FPECM Mission Fills and related documentation.
• Provide systems engineering expertise and technical assurance across capability development.
• Assist planning, execution, and review of laboratory and field Test & Evaluation activities.
• Assess technical data and reports to ensure Defence standards compliance.
• Engage with ADF, APS, and industry stakeholders to deliver outcomes.

Job description

• NV1 minimum required, with the ability to obtain NV2; ITAR requirements apply

Role

We are seeking an experienced Countermeasures Engineer to support a critical Defence capability within the Land Countermeasures Reprogramming Cell (LCRC). This role will play a key part in supporting the development, verification, and technical assurance of Counter Improvised Explosive Device (CIED) capabilities, working across engineering management, design reviews, testing activities, and Defence technical frameworks.

Your duties will include:

• Supporting the Chief Engineer in managing the Engineering Management System (EMS) and associated technical processes
• Conducting design reviews of Force Protection Electronic Countermeasures (FPECM) Mission Fills and related technical documentation
• Providing systems engineering expertise and technical assurance across capability development activities
• Supporting planning, execution, and review of laboratory and field-based Test & Evaluation activities
• Assessing technical data, reports, and engineering documentation to ensure compliance with Defence standards and requirements
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including ADF, APS, and industry personnel, to deliver engineering outcomes

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience within Defence projects and the One Defence Capability System
• Relevant engineering qualifications and experience, preferably in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, Radio Frequency, or Systems Engineering disciplines
• Experience in the design, integration, and verification of RF/Communications systems with complex platforms or systems
• Understanding of Defence engineering processes, technical regulatory frameworks, and capability assurance requirements
• Experience supporting Test & Evaluation activities, including developmental and operational testing environments
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical documentation skills
