Job summary

Bespoke Careers is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Architect – Power Systems in Sydney to govern the design and integration of complex power generation and electrification projects. You will bridge business objectives with technical execution, leading architecture from concept through commissioning.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, oversee interfaces, and ensure safety, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, power systems, mechanical, or systems engineering.
• 12–15+ years of experience in power generation, EPC projects, or transmission & distribution infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of inside-the-fenceline equipment and industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC, NFPA).
• Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex technical interfaces.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executive leadership and regulators.
• Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Architectural governance: develop and standardize reference architectures for power generation, data centers, microgrids, and hybrid plants.
• Lead the integration of inside-the-fenceline assets (Gas Turbines, BESS, STATCOMs, substations, and electrical gear).
• Define system baselines, interface definitions, and validation strategies (FAT/SAT).
• Partner with internal business units (Grid, Gas Power, Digital) and external stakeholders to drive technical alignment.
• Performance validation: review power system studies to ensure design integrity.
• Mentorship: provide technical leadership to engineering teams, advancing systems engineering best practices across the organization.
