Job summary

GE Vernova Electrification Software Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney seeks a Senior Principal Systems Architect – Power Systems to govern the design and integration of complex power generation and industrial electrification projects.

You will lead architecture from concept through commissioning, coordinating across business units and external stakeholders to ensure safety, reliability and operational efficiency while meeting performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power Systems, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
• 12–15+ years of experience in power generation, EPC, or transmission & distribution.
• Deep knowledge of inside-the-fenceline equipment and industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC, NFPA).
• Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex interfaces.
• Excellent communication with ability to influence executives and regulators.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Architectural governance: develop reference architectures for power generation, data centers, microgrids, and hybrids.
• Lead integration of assets (gas turbines, BESS, STATCOMs, substations, electrical gear).
• Define system baselines, interfaces, and validation strategies (FAT/SAT).
• Partner with Grid, Gas Power, Digital and external stakeholders for alignment.
• Review power system studies to ensure design integrity.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote systems engineering best practices.
