Job summary

MMD Recruitment is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a major hyperscale data centre project in Sydney on a 12-month contract with potential extension. The role is client-side, overseeing complex building and infrastructure packages within a live data centre environment.

Applicants should have 10+ years in construction and project management, with proven delivery of data centre or mission-critical projects and strong stakeholder management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in construction and project management.
• Experience delivering data centre or hyperscale mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of design management, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major construction packages across a hyperscale data centre project.
• Manage projects from design and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage head contractors, consultants, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
• Drive programme, cost, quality, safety and project performance.
• Review construction programmes, methodologies, procurement strategies and contractor performance.
• Identify project risks, constraints and potential delays and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Manage variations, commercial issues, change control and project reporting.
• Coordinate design, construction and commissioning interfaces.
• Provide clear reporting and recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards.
