Herbert Smith Freehills LLP in Sydney is expanding its Tier 1 Class Actions team and seeking a talented Solicitor to join the office.

You will work alongside award-winning partners and a broad group of leading lawyers on class action matters and complex regulatory investigations for major national and international clients. The role offers opportunities to develop business and collaborate across offices within a market-leading team.

Qualifications

• Australian or New Zealand practising certificate
• 2-4 years of post-admission experience
• Solid experience across commercial litigation, ideally including class actions at a leading firm or in-house
• Strong academic record with practical, solutions-oriented mindset
• Energy and initiative to be part of a market-leading, collaborative team
• Ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and autonomously
• Excellent communication and collegial teamwork
• Genuine curiosity and hunger to learn and grow in a market-leading practice
• Innovative mindset with interest in AI and emerging technologies

Responsibilities

• Handle files and provide proactive legal solutions to clients
• Contribute to excellent client service and relationship building
• Collaborate with partners and lawyers across local, national, and international offices
• Help identify opportunities to develop business with existing and new clients
• Engage with interstate and international colleagues to deliver seamless service
• Build relationships across the firm and market to support growth
