Job summary

Talenza is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a new AI-safety tooling team in Sydney. You will build and run secure, scalable infrastructure enabling AI-powered tools for engineering teams in production environments.

Work spans environments, integrations, and controls to ensure observability, auditability and resilience. The role focuses on reliability and safety with global cross-team collaboration, mainly Sydney-based and office-led in the first year.

Qualifications

• Strong coding in Python or Go with production software or automation experience.
• Deep Linux/Unix fundamentals and experience operating production infrastructure.
• Strong Kubernetes and Docker experience in a live environment.
• Experience with observability, incident response, alerting and reliability.
• Exposure to cloud services, CI/CD, API integrations and secrets/access management.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate internal services, automation and integrations using Python and/or Go.
• Design and maintain containerised and virtualised environments across Kubernetes, Docker and AWS.
• Enable AI SaaS and self-hosted services for engineering teams focusing on reliability and safety.
• Implement security controls around secrets, access, isolation, network policy and auditability.
• Improve telemetry, monitoring and evaluation for AI-enabled engineering workflows.
• Investigate incidents, reduce toil and raise platform reliability.
• Partner with engineering, security, cloud, and infrastructure teams globally to deliver capabilities.
