Job summary

Glen Eira City Council is seeking a Swim School Performance & Capability Officer in Bentleigh East, VIC. The role focuses on developing and coaching Swim School staff to build a high‑performing team and exceptional customer experiences.

You will coordinate training, onboarding, mentoring and development programs, working closely with Swim Teachers, Shift Supervisors and leaders. This is a part‑time opportunity located at one of Melbourne's leading Swim School programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in aquatics/ Swim School environment.
• Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff to improve performance.
• Experience designing/delivering training, onboarding and professional development programs.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and coaching methodologies.
• Strong planning, organisation and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and improve staff development frameworks and onboarding programs.
• Deliver coaching, mentoring and practical development opportunities to Swim School staff.
• Support staff to improve lesson delivery, class management and student engagement.
• Coordinate development initiatives with Aquatics leadership.
• Support internal career progression from Swim Teacher to supervisory roles.
• Maintain training records and monitor completion requirements.
• Analyse participation and progression data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Promote consistent teaching standards across Swim School programs.
