Job summary

JLL in Sydney is seeking a Sustainability Analyst to join our Environmental team, driving data‑driven sustainability initiatives across the portfolio. You will analyse energy, water, waste, and emissions data, prepare insights, and support cross‑functional teams with recommended improvements.

With 1‑2 years of relevant experience and a university degree in a related field, you will collaborate with Facility Managers and stakeholders to deliver reporting, projects, and best practices that align

Qualifications

  • University qualification in Data, Sustainability, Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 1–2 years industry experience in a sustainability role in built environment, corporate strategy, procurement, or tech.
  • Ability to deliver sustainability reporting projects (e.g., Energy Use Intensity Benchmarking).
  • Ability to implement Sustainability Initiatives (Energy Conservation Measures, Behaviour Change, or Tech Integrations).
  • Experience with process improvement or technology deployment and delivering sustainability performance.

Responsibilities

  • Data management: collect, analyse, and interpret energy, water, waste, and emissions data.
  • Analyze sustainability data and refine initiatives to drive improvements across the portfolio.
  • Engage stakeholders and present sustainability performance metrics.
  • Produce regular sustainability reports (monthly, annual).
  • Identify improvement opportunities and develop business cases with stakeholders.
  • Prepare communications and engage Facility Managers to reduce environmental impacts.
  • Support environmental projects with cross‑functional teams.
  • Contribute to research on best practices and industry trends.

What this opportunity involves:

As a Sustainability Analyst, you will play a key role in the Environmental team supporting and implementing sustainability initiatives and data analysis. You will be responsible for analysing data, conducting research, and providing recommendations to drive sustainable practices across various aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Data management - collect, analyse, and interpret data related to energy consumption, water usage, waste management, greenhouse gas emissions, and other sustainability metrics.
  • Analysis - reviewing and refining technical aspects of sustainability data and initiatives relating to energy, waste, water and environmental management to drive improvements across the portfolio.
  • Stakeholder engagement - present sustainability performance metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Reporting – produce regular (monthly, annual) sustainability performance reports.
  • Problem solving – assist with identifying sustainability improvement opportunities and work with key stakeholder to proactively address issues.
  • Communications – prepare communications and actively engage with Facility Managers and other key stakeholders to understand and reduce environmental impacts.
  • Project management – Support identifying opportunities for environmental improvement, prepare business cases and work with the Project and Facility Management teams to deliver client approved projects.
  • Research – contribute to research and analysis on sustainability best practices, industry trends, and technological advancements.

  • Possess a passion for sustainability issues and university qualified in Data, Sustainability, Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 1-2 years industry experience in a sustainability role working in the built environment, corporate strategy, Procurement, or technology industries
  • Ability to deliver Sustainability Reporting projects such as Energy Use Intensity Benchmarking, and Mandatory and Voluntary Disclosures
  • Ability to assist with implementing Sustainability Initiatives such as Energy Conservation Measures, Behaviour Change Programs, or Technology Integrations
  • Experience contributing to process improvement or technology deployment initiatives and proven capability to deliver best practice sustainability performance
  • Experience working with large companies and presenting reports and findings
  • Strong skills in excel, exposure to environment management software highly regarded
  • Ability to use AI to learn and improve
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Able to follow direction and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple initiatives with competing deadlines
