Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative nursing care
• Monitor and manage post-surgical patients, including pain management
• Perform wound care, drains, and post-operative assessments
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products
• Recognise and elevate deteriorating patients using clinical pathways
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with NSW Health policies

About the Role

As a Travel Surgical Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality perioperative and post-operative nursing care across regional NSW hospitals. You’ll support patients throughout the surgical journey, manage post‑op recovery, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams in surgical and mixed medical-surgical wards.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative nursing care
• Monitor and manage post-surgical patients, including pain management
• Perform wound care, drains, and post-operative assessments
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products
• Recognise and elevate deteriorating patients using clinical pathways
