Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is recruiting for The Sutherland Hospital Nursing & Midwifery Surgical Nurse Bank. The roles offer permanent or part-time options across multiple surgical areas, with extended rotations, professional development and clinical support.

Nurses must have Australian work rights and RN registration, and be able to participate in a seven‑day roster. Opportunities exist to move from the nurse bank to permanent positions on other units as vacancies

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated ability to provide high‑quality nursing care in a surgical setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality nursing care to patients in surgical units.
• Participate in seven‑day rotating rosters and backfill temporary vacancies as required.
• Adhere to SESLHD CORE values and hospital policies and standards.
