Job summary

GHD is seeking a skilled Surface Water Engineer to join our NSW/ACT team across Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Wollongong or regional NSW offices. You will develop GoldSim water balance models for mine water management and water resources projects, collaborating with specialists to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will contribute to multidisciplinary studies, engage with clients, mentor junior staff and help grow GHD's surface water capability within a supportive, dynamic environment that values

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or related discipline.
• Between 5 & 12 years of experience in a similar role in a consulting environment.
• Experience in surface water engineering, mine water management or water resources consulting.
• Strong client relationship skills and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Developing and applying GoldSim water balance models for mine water management studies, operational assessments and strategic water planning.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across mining, dams, tailings, hydrology and environmental services to analyse complex water systems and evaluate risks.
• Delivering on multidisciplinary projects, maintaining client relationships and coordinating with stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
• Contributing to proposals, business development activities and growth of GHD's surface water capability.
• Conducting technical reviews and mentoring junior staff to develop their skills.
