Job summary

GHD is seeking a Surface Water Engineer to join the NSW/ACT team with a focus on mine water management and water balance modelling. The role involves delivering projects across Australia, collaborating with mining, environmental, and hydrology specialists, and growing GHD's surface water capabilities.

You will contribute to proposals, engage with clients and stakeholders, and mentor junior staff while working in a flexible hybrid environment across multiple NSW offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–12 years of experience in a similar consulting role.
• Experience in surface water engineering, mine water management or water resources consulting.
• Strong working knowledge of GoldSim for water balance modelling.
• Understanding mine water management practices, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Strong client relationships and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply GoldSim water balance models for mine water management, operations, and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mining, dams, tailings, hydrology and environment.
• Deliver multidisciplinary projects, maintain client relationships, and coordinate stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
• Contribute to proposals, business development and growth of surface water capability.
• Mentor junior staff and conduct technical reviews.
