Job summary

Airbus Australia Pacific is seeking an Aircraft Surface Finisher to join the Richmond Maintenance team. You will perform painting on composite and metallic components and support surface finish work on aircraft or components for the C-130J Hercules.

The role requires good hand skills, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and careful adherence to relevant standards and procedures. Applicants must be eligible for Australian Baseline Security Clearance and demonstrate a commitment

Job description

Aircraft Surface Finisher / Aircraft Painter

As an Aircraft Surface Finisher, you will work as part of our Richmond Maintenance team in providing aerospace painting services of both composite and metallic components in support of the C-130J Hercules.

You will be primarily responsible for performing the painting activities while supporting operational units in Industry specific tasks, such as surface finish work on components, advanced structural repair, and aircraft or component repairs or modifications.

The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include:

• Certificate III in Aircraft Surface Finisher


• Experience in painting composite and metallic aircraft and components


• Experience in aircraft maintenance preferred but equivalent industry painting experience will be considered, component maintenance and/or manufacturing processes


• Knowledge of, and ability to apply, relevant regulations, standards, policies and procedures


• Good hand skills with materials and hand tools.


• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings


• Good written and verbal communication skills
