Job summary

Calvary The Regent in Mount Waverley, VIC is seeking a casual Support Worker with cleaning and domestic assistance responsibilities. You will help aged and disabled clients with daily living tasks at home and in the community, including Domestic Assistance, Social Support, and Personal Care.

Availability to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday is a must; the role involves cleaning tasks and teamwork within a mission-based health care provider.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning tasks such as mopping and vacuuming.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling (desirable).
• Ability to follow infection control and safety requirements.
• Desire to work in a mission-based healthcare environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prioritise workloads.
• Experience in aged care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks per schedules, including mopping, vacuuming, and waste management.
• Operate cleaning equipment like carpet cleaners and floor scrubbers.
• Ensure stock of clean linen and laundry supplies.

About the role

As a Support Worker your role will beto assist a diverse range of clients including aged, disability and high needs clients with activities of daily living and providing support services such as Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Specialist Children and Adult Services, Respite and Personal Care at their home and in the community.Availability to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine and project cleaning tasks according to established cleaning schedules. Cleaning tasks include mopping and vacuuming floors, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, cobweb removal, window cleaning, waste management, restocking of supplies, collection of soiled linen and clothing as required
• Undertakes daily, weekly, monthly cleaning tasks as per homes cleaning schedules and documents completion of the scheduled tasks as required.
• Operate mechanical cleaning equipment such as carpet cleaning machines, steam cleaners and hard floor scrubbers.
• Ensures ample supplies of clean linen, towels, and laundry skip bags are consistently stocked in designated storage areas within the home.

About you

• Experience in cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, window and high cleaning
• Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling (desirable)
• Completion of cleaning tasks according to infection control and occupational health and safety requirements including the safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Experience in Aged Care is desirable
