Endeavour Foundation is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker for our SIL home in Bellmere, Queensland. You will contribute to a sleepover roster, helping residents achieve daily living goals and maintain independence within a supportive, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Calm, compassionate Disability Support Worker with ability to assist people with complex needs.
• Experience supporting individuals to develop daily living skills and independence.
• Familiarity with NDIS goals and person-centred planning.

Responsibilities

• Help clients achieve NDIS goals by building daily living skills (housekeeping, personal care, social skills, budgeting).
• Assist with personal care to meet individual needs.
• Support meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and community outings to foster independence and connections.
• Provide support during daily activities and accompaniment to appointments or activities.
• Help maintain family and service connections for clients.

Job description

We have a permanent roster line available at our SIL home in Oscar Court, Bellmere, offering a sleepover-focused roster designed to keep your days free. The roster consists of 5 sleepover shifts Monday to Friday in Week 1, with no scheduled shifts in Week 2, and opportunities to pick up additional shifts where available.

Working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) home in Oscar Court, Bellmere, you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home. No two days will be the same - you may hear that phrase a lot but here at Endeavour Foundation, you will see it in action!

Other Key Duties Will Include

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.

We Also Require

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work the permanent roster line consisting of 5 sleepover shifts Monday to Friday in Week 1, with flexibility to pick up additional shifts where available.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Driver Licence with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
