Job summary

Endeavour Foundation in Tewantin seeks a dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide compassionate care in Supported Independent Living homes. You will assist with daily living tasks, support NDIs goals, and help residents participate in community activities and outings.

The role involves sleepovers up to five per fortnight within a permanent 40-hour roster. A calm, professional approach is essential to create a safe and respectful environment for individuals with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work a permanent roster with multiple sleepovers and varied shifts.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Willingness to obtain Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check and have a driver’s license with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Help people achieve their NDIS goals by developing daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assist with personal care where required to meet individual needs.
• Support meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and community outings to foster connection.
• Provide support during daily activities such as outings, appointments, and recreational activities.
• Help clients maintain connections with family, friends and services.

Disability Support Worker - Tewantin (Sleepovers)

We have a permanent roster available across our SIL homes in Tewantin, offering a 40-hour fortnightly contract (minimum hours), working sleepovers (up to 5 sleepovers per Fortnight).

To be considered for this role, you must be available to work five consecutive sleepover shifts per fortnight.

Working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) home in Tewantin, you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home. No two days will be the same - you may hear that phrase a lot but here at Endeavour Foundation, you will see it in action!

Other key duties will include:

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.

We also require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work a permanent roster line that may include multiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Drivers License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
