Job summary

Interact Australia in Logan City is seeking a dedicated support worker to help clients achieve their NDIS goals through person-centred care and community participation.

You will work autonomously, respond to client needs, maintain progress notes and comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct, with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting clients to meet NDIs goals in community settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and in partnership with families and carers.
• Commitment to NDIS principles and code of conduct.
• Experience with continence care and manual handling safety.
• Experience in personal care and medication assistance.
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening.

About the Role

This role of the support worker is to provide exceptional service whilst supporting Interact Australia’s clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes;

Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the client’s level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and various other needs.

Respond to the client’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.

Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes

Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct

Who you are

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has the following attributes;

Working with Children Blue card NDIS Worker Screening

Completion of NDS Worker Orientation Module

An understanding of NDIS and a commitment to its principles

Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals

A passion for assisting individuals with a disability to improve their quality of life and to reach their potential

Continence care and continence aid support Spinal Cord Injury Experience ABI/TBI Experience Experience using Hoists and other Manual Handling apparatus Personal care and Medication assistance experience

Please note:The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Australian Federal Police check, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Screening and a Working with Children Check, prior to confirmation of appointment to the position.

The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
