Job summary

Interact Australia is seeking a dedicated support worker in Wangaratta to assist clients with disability in achieving their goals outlined in their NDIS plans. The role focuses on promoting independence through community participation, skill-building, and relationship development.

You will respond to client needs, collaborate with families, maintain detailed progress notes and work within the NDIS Code of Conduct. Prior experience with autism, mental health or challenging behaviours is valued.

Qualifications

About the Role

This role of the support worker is to provide exceptional service whilst supporting Interact Australia’s clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes;

Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the client’s level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and various other needs.

Respond to the client’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.

Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes

Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct

Position based in Wangaratta

Who you are

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has the following attributes;

• Experience with Personal Care
• Experience with Mental Health
• Experience with Intellectual Disability
• Experience with Seizure Management
• Experience with Challenging Behaviours
• Working with Children
• NDIS Worker Screening
• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• An understanding of NDIS and a commitment to its principles
• A passion for assisting individuals with a disability to improve their quality of life and to reach their potential
• Driver's Licence and own car, and a willingness to use for transporting clients (where required, mileage reimbursed)

Please note:The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Australian Federal Police check, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Screening and a Working with Children Check, prior to confirmation of appointment to the position.

The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
