Job summary

Mencap in Ipswich is recruiting compassionate Support Workers to assist individuals with learning disabilities and support daily activities, emotional wellbeing and transportation as part of a 24-hour rota.

Roles include full-time, part-time and relief options with DBS checks and inclusive values. A driver is preferred, and sleep-in shifts are available to meet service needs.

Job description

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Ipswich.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this vacancy at this point in time due to high internal demand and non-availability of certificates of sponsorship.

What we're looking for:

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• Sleep in shifts also available.
• A driver would be preferred

Contract options:

• Full-time: 37.5 hrs
• Part-time : flexible hours based on availability
• Relief: Flexible working with no set hours/shifts

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

• Days: Between 07:00-22:00
• Sleep-ins: 22:00-07:00

There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of£64.20.
