Job summary
Nurse Next Door Melbourne is seeking compassionate Support Workers to deliver disability support and aged care in clients' homes. You will create meaningful connections, provide personal care, and support daily living needs with flexible scheduling to fit your life.
This casual role offers visits lasting two hours or more, with ongoing training and scheduling support from the care team, and opportunities to grow within a trusted national provider.
Qualifications
- Minimum Cert III in Aged Care, Community, Individual Support, Disability or Equivalent.
- NDIS Worker Screener clearance (may be applied for after interview).
- Ability to speak and write in English.
Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with showering, grooming, dressing, toileting and hygiene.
- Assisting with transfers, ambulation and exercises as required.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Transporting clients to appointments and social events.
- Accurate visit documentation and observation on changes in health or status.

We are looking to build our team with a variety of experienced Support Workers who are able to work on a casual basis from 10 to 38 hours per week depending on client needs.

- We have 2 hour minimum visits, which gives you more quality time to spend with your clients, we don't do one-off 1 hour visits.

Making Lives Better® by:
- Assisting clients with showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, hygiene, light housekeeping, meals, daily errands
- Assisting clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Transporting clients to appointments and social events
- Accurate visit documentation and observation on changes in their health or status
We provide around the clock care, so visits may be scheduled early morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight to meet our client's needs, however we will offer jobs within your availability
- You are genuinely PASSIONATE about making a difference
- You feel and display empathy, and want to engage with our clients
- You are able to identify and report client care concerns
- Dedicated to those in both the aged care and disability sector, & in helping people to live more fulfilling lives both at home and in the wider community
- Must be able to speak and write in English, other languages will be an asset!
- Having previous community care experience is a bonus but not a requirement
- Have a reliable way to get to and from the client's home, own vehicle would be an asset.
- Minimum Cert III in Aged Care, Community, Individual Support, Disability or Equivalent
- NDIS Worker Screener clearance (can be applied for after interview-replaces National Police Check, valid for 5 years)
- Up to date CPR & First Aid Certificates
- Covid-19 Vaccinations
