Job summary

Calvary is seeking a part-time Support Worker – Cleaning in Bendigo, VIC, to help deliver a safe and clean living environment for residents and staff. The role is offered as part-time and fixed-term, with responsibilities covering routine cleaning and documentation per schedules.

The ideal candidate has cleaning experience and strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on infection control and safe chemical handling where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, window cleaning.
• Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling (desirable).
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and project cleaning tasks according to established schedules.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks as per home schedules and document completion.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as carpet cleaners, steamers and floor scrubbers.
• Maintain stocked supplies of clean linen, towels and laundry skip bags.

About the role

The Support Worker – Cleaning will support the delivery of a safe and clean‑living environment for residents and work environment for staff in alignment with appropriate standards.

Both part‑time and fixed‑term opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Routine and project cleaning tasks according to established cleaning schedules. Cleaning tasks include mopping and vacuuming floors, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, cobweb removal, window cleaning, waste management, restocking of supplies, collection of soiled linen and clothing as required
• Undertakes daily, weekly, monthly cleaning tasks as per homes cleaning schedules and documents completion of the scheduled tasks as required.
• Operate mechanical cleaning equipment such as carpet cleaning machines, steam cleaners and hard floor scrubbers.
• Ensures ample supplies of clean linen, towels, and laundry skip bags are consistently stocked in designated storage areas within the home.

About you

• Experience in cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, window and high cleaning
• Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling (desirable)
• Completion of cleaning tasks according to infection control and occupational health and safety requirements including the safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Experience in Aged Care is desirable
