Job summary

Endeavour Foundation in Townsville invites applications for a Disability Support Worker on a permanent roster line. You will assist people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, including personal care, daily living tasks, and community activities, across day, evening, sleepover shifts.

Working in SIL homes, you’ll help with housekeeping, meal planning, budgeting, and connecting with family and services.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work a permanent roster line with a variety of shifts including sleepovers.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check, and a comprehensive driving license.

Responsibilities

• Help people achieve their NDIS goals by developing daily living skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assist with personal care to meet individual needs.
• Support with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and community connection through social activities and outings.
• Provide support during daily activities such as walks, going to the movies, or appointments.
• Help maintain connections with family, friends and services.

Job description

We have a permanent roster line available across our SIL homes in Townsville, offering a 60-hour fortnightly contract working a mixture of days, afternoons and sleepover shifts.

Working within ourSIL(Supported Independent Living) homeinTownsville,you will provide support,assistingpeople with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need someadditionalsupport at home. Other key duties will include:

Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, socialskillsand budgeting.

Assistingwith aspects of personal care whererequiredto meet the individual needs of the people we support.

Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.

Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to themoviesoraccompanyingto an appointment.

Helping the people we support tomaintaina connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respondappropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.

We alsorequire:

A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) isadvantageous.

Availability to work a permanent roster line that may includemultiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.

Good computer skills and experience using Word,Exceland Outlook.

Hold or be willing to obtain aWorking with Children Check(Blue Card),NDIS Worker Screening Check(Yellow Card),First Aid,CPR,National Criminal History Check(Fit2Work), and an openDriversLicensewithcomprehensive insuranceon your vehicle.
