Job summary

Tenterfield Care Centre in NSW is seeking a casual Cleaning & Kitchen Hand to support weekday operations across Millrace and Haddington homes. You will help maintain cleanliness, assist kitchen services, and contribute to high resident wellbeing with a friendly, caring approach.

Ideal candidates have experience in similar roles, good communication, and a current NDIS Workers Screening (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must hold and maintain NDIS Workers Screening (or willingness to obtain).
• Understanding of Resident Rights and Aged Care standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, lounges, and dining areas.
• Laundry duties and sorting; maintaining hygiene and supplies.
• Kitchen hand duties including meal service and prep support.
• Dining room service and resident-focused personalised care.
• Adhere to infection control and food safety standards; complete documentation.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, you’ll support weekday operations by maintaining cleanliness and kitchen hand services across both Millrace and Haddington homes, ensuring our high standards are met. OurSupport ServicesCleaning & Kitchen Hand staffare integral to the wellbeing of our residents, delivering high-quality services. We are currently looking for a Casual staff to join our team who are passionate about making a difference.

What you will do

Cleaning & Laundry:

• Maintaining legislated safety, quality, and hygiene standards
• Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, and living areas
• Cleaning communal and dining areas
• Cleaning and sorting laundry
• Maintaining adequate supplies of toilet paper, soap, and other cleaning and hygiene supplies for resident use.
• Adhering to infection control principles, WHS requirements including the safe storage and use of chemicals and complete cleaning requirements according to facility schedules
• Completing required documentation and reporting

Kitchen Hand:

• Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
• Distribution of meals to residents, assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties
• Dining room services
• Providing excellent personalised service to our residents
• Ensure duties are performed in accordance with Infection Control and Food Safety Handling Standards
• Ensure a high standard and quality of cleanliness throughout the organisation.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment.
• Completion of documentation

What you will bring

• Experience gained in a similar role, preferably within an Aged Care setting desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Currently hold and maintain aNDIS Workers Screen (or willing to obtain) - Mandatory
• An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes is highly regarded but not essential
