Job summary

selectability is seeking a Support Coordinator in Bowen to work with participants navigating the NDIS and interpreting individual packages. You will help ensure participants get the most from their NDIS plans, coordinating services and engaging with stakeholders to support meaningful community living.

The role requires driving capability and a flexible, collaborative approach to support a diverse client base in regional Queensland. Casual, with benefits and development opportunities, in Bowen.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the NDIS is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to engage recipients and work with culturally diverse communities.
• Valid Queensland driver’s licence and access to a vehicle; first aid/CPR and safety checks may be required.

About the role

As a Support Coordinator, you will work closely with participants to navigate the NDIS and interpret their individual packages; it is your role to ensure they are getting the most out of their NDIS plans.

Key responsibilities of a Support Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting and empowering participants to make their own choices as to how they want to lead their lives
• Coordinating a variety of services for participants to support them to live fulfilling and meaningful lives within the community
• Engaging with and managing participants key stakeholders (including government agencies, community and clinical service providers and families), ensuring that the supports and services are leveraged, not duplicated
• Working with participants to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports to live their best life

About you

To be successful you must:

• Possess a working knowledge of the NDIS (is desirable)
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to best practice
• Experience working in a team environment
• Ability to quickly and effectively engage recipients
• Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities & individuals

Role Requirements

• Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver’s licence
• Currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
• First Aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain)
• Child Safety & Personal History Screening check
• Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain)NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
