The organisation delivers smarter infrastructure solutions that serve resource retailers, networks and end consumers, underpinned by a commitment to reliable and accurate measurement, data and insights that a sustainable energy future depends on. Plus ES is guided by its core values: Safety, One Team, Our Customer, Innovation and Accountability.
This is a Senior Leadership Team role for a commercially sharp supply chain strategist ready to shape how a critical piece of Australia's energy infrastructure is planned, resourced and delivered. As Supply Chain Strategy Manager, you will set and drive the enterprise-wide supply chain, commercial performance and business optimisation strategy for Plus ES, translating organisational strategy into a multi-year roadmap that secures resilient, scalable and cost-effective operations in support of sustainable growth.
Operating as a strategic partner to the COO and the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape enterprise capital allocation, investment prioritisation and commercial strategy through advanced financial modelling, scenario planning and business case development. You will represent supply chain and commercial performance considerations in executive level forums, providing authoritative advice on growth opportunities, major transformation initiatives, working capital strategy and enterprise risk relating to supply and inventory continuity. You will also lead the development of supply chain policy, strategic sourcing frameworks and vendor governance models that underpin the organisation's long-term competitiveness.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will build enterprise-wide commercial and supply chain capability, influence strategic decision-making across Operations, Finance, Technology and Business Development, and champion a culture of strategic foresight, continuous improvement and disciplined commercial rigour across Plus ES.
Set the enterprise-wide supply chain and commercial strategy and translate it into a multi-year roadmap covering supply chain, logistics, inventory and commercial performance, represented directly to the COO and Board.
Lead advanced financial modelling, business cases, investment appraisals and scenario analyses that support executive and Board decision-making on growth, capital allocation and major transformation initiatives.
Own enterprise-wide commercial performance reporting, including revenue drivers, margin, working capital, inventory carrying costs, CAPEX and OPEX, and lead initiatives that materially improve profitability and reduce operating costs.
Lead the design and governance of national supply chain and inventory strategies, balancing cost, service, risk and scalability, and oversee demand forecasting, inventory planning and supply continuity risk frameworks.
Set the strategic direction for logistics and vendor governance frameworks, overseeing enterprise-level vendor performance and strategic supplier relationships.
Lead enterprise-wide continuous improvement and transformation initiatives across supply chain, logistics and commercial functions, establishing executive-level performance metrics and KPI frameworks.
You hold a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field (a relevant postgraduate qualification such as an MBA is highly regarded), backed by 8-10+ years' progressive experience in supply chain strategy or commercial/business performance leadership, including demonstrated experience operating at senior management or executive-adjacent level with enterprise-wide accountability. You bring advanced ERP and business intelligence fluency (SAP or similar) and the ability to translate complex data into executive-level insight.
What sets you apart is proven experience advising, influencing and presenting to C-suite executives, Senior Leadership Teams and/or Boards, including developing Board-ready papers, strategic recommendations and investment cases. You have held demonstrated accountability for significant commercial outcomes such as P&L, working capital, capital expenditure or budget ownership, with a strong track record of driving measurable profitability and performance improvement at an enterprise level, underpinned by advanced financial modelling, business case development and investment appraisal capability.
You bring extensive experience in end-to-end supply chain, inventory and logistics strategy at a national or enterprise scale, a track record of leading large-scale business transformation and cost optimisation programs, and outstanding executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt preferred), experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure or other regulated industries, and knowledge of electricity or water metering systems would be an advantage.
This is a chance to shape how a critical piece of Australia's energy infrastructure is planned, resourced and delivered, with genuine influence over enterprise supply chain and commercial strategy at the Senior Leadership Team level at Plus ES, a business that backs safety, collaboration, customer focus, innovation and accountability.
Plus ES is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
