Job summary

Qube Ports is seeking a Forklift Operator to support safe and efficient operations at White Bay Terminal in Sydney during seasonal demand. The role involves operating forklifts during vessel operations and on the wharf, following SOPs and OH&S policies.

Training and adherence to safety standards are emphasized. Applicants must have a current high-risk forklift licence, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol tests.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence and up-to-date knowledge of safe operation.
• Experience handling manual handling techniques.
• Minimum 12 months forklift experience required.
• Able to drive in confined spaces and follow directions in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a forklift (1.8 Tonne and 2.5 tonne Counter Balance).
• Forklift driving may occur during Receivals & Deliveries and vessel operations on the wharf.
• Operate plant and equipment per SOPs or as directed by management.
• Follow all OH&S policies and procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary role of Supplementary Stevedores at White Bay Terminal is to support the safe and efficient operation of passenger vessels in Sydney during seasonal demand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operating a Forklift (1.8 Tonne and 2.5 tonne Counter Balance)
• Forklift Driving may be performed in R&D (Receivals and Deliveries) and during vessel operations (on the wharf)
• Operate plant and equipment as per standard operating procedures (SOP's) or as directed by management
• Follow all company policies including, but not limited to, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Forklift operator – must have current high risk forklift licence
• Knowledge and experience of Manual handling techniques
• Previous experience on a Forklift (Minimum 12 Months)
• Ability to drive in confined spaces
• Ability to follow instructions in a fast pace environment
• Ability to work in a team and work autonomously
• Proven reliability - we need team players who can 100% commit to the role (this will also need to be backed up by a reputable reference)
• Place safety as a top priority
• Pass a pre-employment medical
• Pass a pre-employment (and during employment) Drug & Alcohol Test
