Job summary

CMV Truck Centre is seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to lead a large workshop, reporting to the Service Manager. You will supervise technicians and apprentices, ensuring daily work flows are managed efficiently and in line with quality and safety standards.

The role involves road testing, diagnosing faults, and mentoring staff within a state-of-the-art dealership environment. You will be part of a team focused on delivering high productivity, supported by training and development

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Current HR licence.
• High level of problem solving / diagnostic skills.
• Excellent ability to impart acquired knowledge to both technicians and apprentices.
• Thrive in a fast paced environment.
• Strong computer aptitude in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is completed to the company’s and the manufactures quality standards and at the required productivity level
• Abide by and promote at all times the “Fix it right the first time” philosophy.
• Practice and promote all OHS&W regulations and any other quality or safety principals of the company.
• Road test vehicles with or without customers to assess faults.
• Ensure that all items on the repair order are completed to specification and quality standards

CMV Truck Centre is a purpose built truck dealership specialising in the Sales, Service, Parts and Finance support for the class leading Kenworth and DAF brands. We are a division of the CMV Group of companies which has been operating for 90 years and employs over 2000 staff throughout S.A. and VIC.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for a large size workshop of talented technicians and enthusiastic apprentices, and to see that the flow of daily work is managed in an efficient and precise manner.

In this challenging role you will be responsible for supporting the Workshop with the day to day running of the workshop, and contributing to the efficient and profitable operation of the department.

Duties & Responsibilities
