Job summary

Ballina Shire Council is offering a hands-on leadership role within the Engineering Works section. Reporting to the Team Leader Utilities Construction, this role leads a skilled team in delivering water, wastewater, stormwater and revetment wall infrastructure for the community.

You will plan, coordinate and deliver construction programs, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget, in line with Council's Annual Salary Agreement; fostering a collaborative environment

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff and contractors with monitoring performance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction, maintenance and operation of civil infrastructure.
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead a skilled team delivering water, wastewater, stormwater and revetment wall infrastructure.

About The Role

Position

Council is offering a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Engineering Works section. Reporting to Council's Team Leader Utilities Construction, this is a hands-on leadership opportunity responsible for leading a skilled team in delivering essential water, wastewater, stormwater and revetment wall infrastructure for the community.

The role plays a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering construction programs, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard - on time, within budget and in line with Council's Annual Salary Agreement.

Your leadership will be key in fostering a collaborative environment that prioritises safety, environmental sustainability and high-quality outcomes.

To be successful you will bring

• Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council's values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
• Demonstrated excellent working knowledge of and a high level of experience in the construction, maintenance and operation of civil infrastructure.
• Certificate III in Construction, Project Management, Water Industry Operations, or Water Industry Treatment or equivalent.
• Proven experience in the supervision of staff and contractors, including monitoring performance, coordinating worksite activities and training and development.
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card) or willingness to obtain.

The rewards

• A salary range of $80,900 to $92,800 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience. This incorporates the payment of four hours of approved overtime per fortnight according to Council's Annual Salary Agreement.
