Job summary

Gold Fields – Gruyere is seeking a Supervisor: Mine Control to provide day-to-day supervision of mine controllers and ensure optimal use of the Fleet Management System to deliver the mine plan.

You will lead the Mine Control team, safeguard data integrity of mining physicals and equipment states, and uphold safety culture across the operation in a FIFO Perth-based setup.

Qualifications

• Experience leading integrated planning with a Fleet Management System (FMS).
• Experience supporting Fleet Management Systems and related technologies.
• Experience working in a Mine control room.
• Knowledge of OHS legislative requirements strengthens application.
• Strong operational knowledge of mining cycles.
• Qualification in Control Systems, IT or related discipline.
• Valid Manual Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide ownership of Mine Control including the Fleet Management System.
• Manage change, system configuration and provide operational guidance to mine controllers and support teams.
• Ensure mining operation meets targets in a safe, productive and efficient manner.
• Provide leadership and coaching to the Mine Control team.
• Daily support to database control and administration of the department.
• Support supervisors and operators in achieving targets and compliance to plan.
• Liaise with stakeholders to improve processes and data integrity.
• Create standards for system configuration and assist with incident ownership and troubleshooting.
• Manage incident resolution, system performance monitoring, and coordination with operations, maintenance and vendor support teams.
• Serve as central communication for mine production and safety, including emergencies.

Gold Fields – Gruyere is currently seeking a Supervisor: Mine Control, to join their Mining department.

Reporting to the Unit manager: Surfacer Mining, you will provide day to day operation supervision to the mine controllers ensuring that they are utilising the FMS to deliver the mine plan optimally. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity of all mining physicals and equipment states. This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off, Fly in Fly out from Perth.

Duties Of The Role

• Provide ownership of Mine Control including the Fleet Management System
• Manage change, system configuration and providing operational guidance to the mine controllers and support teams.
• Assisting to ensure the mining operation meets operational targets in a safe, productive & efficient manner.
• Provide leadership and coaching to the Mine Control team
• Daily support to database control and administration of the department
• Support supervisors and operators in achieving targets and compliance to plan
• Liaise with stakeholders to improve processes and integrity of data, in line with the approved Time Usage Model (TUM)
• Perform regular audits to ensure documented systems and processes are followed by operators and Mine Controllers for the integrity of the data
• Creating the standards for system configuration and assist with incident ownership and advanced troubleshooting
• Manage incident resolution, system performance monitoring, and coordination between operations, maintenance and vendor support teams.
• Serve as central communication personnel for mine production and safety, including emergency events

About You

• Previous experience leading an integrated planning process with a Fleet Management System (FMS), preferably WENCO
• Experienced in Supporting Fleet Management Systems and related technologies
• Experienced in working in a Mine control room
• Knowledge of OHS legislative requirements will further strengthen your application.
• Strong operational knowledge of mining cycles
• Qualification in Control Systems, IT or related discipline
• Valid Manual Driver’s Licence.
