Job summary

UGL is seeking an Electrical Supervisor for the Sybella Wind Farm near Mount Isa to lead site construction activities safely and to spec. You will coordinate electrical crews, sub-contractors, and apprentices while delivering quality outcomes in a live environment.

This role requires an Electrical Trade Qualification and demonstrated leadership on major projects, with a focus on safety, QA, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Trade Qualification and supervisory experience on major electrical projects.
  • Experience in substations, HV works, renewables or major infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership, communication, safety and QA knowledge; able to coordinate multiple fronts.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site-based electrical construction activities.
  • Manage electrical crews, subcontractors and apprentices to ensure productivity, quality and compliance.
  • Oversee installation and termination of cables, earth grids, HV plant, switchgear and associated services.
  • Coordinate works in live operational environments including substations.
  • Lead toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and safety initiatives.
  • Ensure HSSEQ, QA and project documentation requirements are met.
  • Monitor progress, workforce performance and timesheets.
  • Support workforce development, inductions and compliance training.
  • Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders and site leadership.

OVERVIEW ABOUT UGL

UGL New Energy & Industrial team are recruiting for a Supervisor - Electrical for the Sybella Wind Farm near Mount ISA. You’ll be responsible for ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to quality standards, while coordinating teams and resolving challenges in real time.

UGL’s Energy & Industrial business is experiencing rapid growth, and we need motivated and capable people to join our team. UGL’s in-house engineering and design capability, together with our strong project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise, puts us in a strong position in the market. Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.

Key responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily site-based electrical construction activities

About you

You are a confident Electrical Supervisor with experience delivering complex electrical works on major projects and a genuine commitment to safety, quality and leadership.

You will bring:
  • Electrical Trade Qualification
  • Exetensive experience in a supervisory role within electrical construction
  • Experience in substations, HV works, renewables, or major infrastructure projects (highly regarded)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Solid understanding of safety systems, QA requirements, and site compliance
  • Ability to coordinate multiple work fronts in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong planning, organisation, and people management capability
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
