Job summary

UGL is recruiting a Supervisor - Electrical for our QLD projects. You will lead daily site electrical activities, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence across complex substations and renewables sites.

You will bring an Electrical Trade Qualification and proven supervisory experience in major infrastructure, with strong leadership and communication skills to drive project success and compliance on site in Queensland.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Trade Qualification required.
  • Experience supervising electrical construction teams.
  • Experience in substations, HV works, renewables or major infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership, communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Solid safety, QA and site- compliance understanding.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple fronts in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site-based electrical construction activities.
  • Manage electrical crews, subcontractors and apprentices for productivity and quality.
  • Oversee installation and termination of cables, earth grids, HV plant and switchgear.
  • Coordinate works in live operational environments including substations.
  • Lead toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and safety initiatives.
  • Ensure HSSEQ, QA and project documentation requirements are met.
  • Monitor progress, workforce performance and timesheets.
  • Support workforce development, inductions and compliance training.
  • Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders and site leadership.

OVERVIEW ABOUT UGL

UGL New Energy & Industrial team are recruiting for a Supervisor - Electrical for our QLD Projects!

You’ll be responsible for ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to quality standards, while coordinating teams and resolving challenges in real time.

UGL’s Energy & Industrial business is experiencing rapid growth, and we need motivated and capable people to join our team. UGL’s in‑house engineering and design capability, together with our strong project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise, puts us in a strong position in the market. Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site‑based electrical construction activities
  • Manage electrical crews, subcontractors and apprentices to ensure productivity, quality and compliance.
  • Oversee installation and termination of cables, earth grids, HV plant, switchgear and associated services.
  • Coordinate works in live operational environments including substations.
  • Lead toolbox talks, pre‑start meetings and safety initiatives

About you

You are a confident Electrical Supervisor with experience delivering complex electrical works on major projects and a genuine commitment to safety, quality and leadership.

You will bring:

  • Electrical Trade Qualification
  • Exetensive experience in a supervisory role within electrical construction
  • Experience in substations, HV works, renewables, or major infrastructure projects (highly regarded)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Solid understanding of safety systems, QA requirements, and site compliance
  • Ability to coordinate multiple work fronts in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong planning, organisation, and people management capability
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
