Job summary

WeBuild is seeking a Dewatering Supervisor to assist the Dewatering Superintendent in overseeing the installation, commissioning and maintenance of water systems, dewatering and related infrastructure on the Snowy 2.0 project in NSW.

The role requires extensive civil or tunnelling supervisory experience, mechanical trade qualifications, and strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to manage safety, environmental, and quality outcomes on site.

Qualifications

• Trade or qualification in Mechanical or equivalent ability.
• White Card to access construction sites.
• Valid Driving Licence required.
• Experience in civil or tunnelling construction in supervisory roles.
• Familiarity with safety, environmental and quality management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise teams to procure, plan, install and maintain dewatering and water systems.
• Oversee water balance and treatment processes across project activities.
• Supervise Dewatering and wastewater plants operations.
• Coordinate pipe installations and tunnelling collaborations in critical areas.

Job description

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

The Dewatering Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Dewatering Superintendent in overseeing the installation, commissioning and maintenance of water systems, dewatering systems, compressed air systems, water treatment plants, pipeline reticulation, both surface and underground.

Qualifications:

• Trade or Qualification in Mechanical or Equivalent ability
• White Card
• Driving License

Experience:

• Extensive experience in civil or tunnelling construction, typically 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role
• Experience in basic use of Microsoft Office Suite, data and file recording.
• Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental Management
• Experience in Quality Management
• Experience in Planning & Resourcing
• Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations
• Ideally an understanding and exposure of Reverse Osmosis Plants
• Ability to supervise team members, produce method statements and work closely with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards
• Ability to lead and manage teams
• Demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving skills
• Practical knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages.
• Good communication skill, both oral and written
• Self motivated.
• Mechanical or Electrical Trade background
• Ability to implement and follow through on multiple issues and to achieve productive results
• Sound interpersonal skills

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Supervise teams to see the successful procurement, planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of water, dewatering systems, compressed air systems, water treatment plants, pipeline reticulation for both surface and underground
• Assist in overseeing the achievement of water balance across the project activities and processing plants
• Supervise ongoing operations of all Dewatering and waste water treatment plants
• Supervise all pipe installations and working with Tunnelling on their in critical areas
