Job summary

Clough Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Engineer to lead and coordinate activities for the Snowy 2.0 project in NSW. The role requires strong leadership of a multi-disciplinary team and deep hydro power construction knowledge.

You will oversee QA, safety, and commissioning work across the project lifecycle. The position requires 5+ years in hydro construction, with proficiency in MS Office, project scheduling and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hydro power construction experience.
  • Experience on large-scale construction projects and related disciplines.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Excel, Word, Project and Outlook.
  • Ability to interpret electromechanical studies and risks.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, testing and documentation.
  • Ensure delivery within time, cost, quality, safety and environmental constraints.
  • Develop substantiated claims and manage schedules and field procedures.
  • Provide electromechanical input for power generating facilities across project stages.
  • Attend sites to coordinate testing, commissioning and quality checks.

Job description

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. To ensure the successful delivery of the project within the required constraints for time, cost, quality, safety, environment and the community

Qualifications:
  • Tertiary Qualifications or related discipline such as, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering
  • White Card
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in Hydro Power construction projects or Construction Industry / disciple in a similar role –
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
  • Experience with hydraulic structures, hydropower or related industrial infrastructure project
  • Experience with Hydropower systems and Auxiliary
  • Ability to interpret Electromechanical system studies and define key risks
  • Understanding of hydropower Electromechanical , Interfaces and construction work sequences
  • Understanding of quality plans and Inspection Test Plans for electrical works, MEP Engineering.
  • Understanding of current and relevant health and safety regulations, good industry practice and engineering standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Construction industry knowledge and experience of mechanical systems including steel structures and piping
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Must work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
  • Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.
  • In-depth understanding of project planning and management in construction industry
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively and independently with a positive high energy attitude
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Contract comprehension, commercial awareness and ability to develop substantiated claims
  • Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • C onstruction schedules follow up and update.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Compile QA documentation including Work Packs, ITP’s Method statements and Construction verification
  • Respectfully takes direction and adheres to feedback from construction managers and project managers
  • Providing Electromechanical engineering technical input into for the power generating facilities of the project at various stages .
  • Attend project sites to coordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities
  • Contribute to regular project meetings, communications and reports to the project manager and/or principal, which provide accurate and timely information to support their understanding of strategic risks, issues, opportunities, impacts and progress
  • Monitors progress of construction against the program and takes steps to ensure the program is achieved
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are fully implemented. Establishing field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures, as necessitated by conditions at a jobsite
