Job summary

Northern Territory Government, Territory Pathology, Darwin, seeks a Supervising Scientist – Transfusion Medicine to lead the Transfusion Medicine service at Royal Darwin Hospital. This fixed-term role supports NT's major tertiary hospital and regional network.

You will provide technical leadership, oversee staff, contribute to service quality, safety and accreditation, and participate in weekend and after-hours rosters as required.

Territory Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Supervising Scientist – Transfusion Medicine to join the team at Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to take on a leadership role within a busy and diverse Transfusion Medicine service supporting the Northern Territory’s major tertiary referral hospital and its regional and remote health network.

As a Supervising Scientist, you will provide technical leadership and professional support across the Transfusion Medicine service, helping to ensure the delivery of a safe, responsive, high-quality and patient-focused service. You will work alongside experienced scientific and clinical teams and play an important role in maintaining service quality, staff capability and accreditation standards.

The successful applicant will have comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated experience across laboratory Transfusion Medicine, together with the ability to lead, supervise, support and develop staff. You will bring a strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement and patient safety, with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the service.
