Job summary

Bravus Mining & Resources is seeking a Superintendent - Site Services to lead workforce logistics at Carmichael Mine. The role ensures safe, efficient and cost-effective flights, accommodation and airfield operations for site personnel, based onsite at Carmichael Coal Mine.

You will report to the Manager Safety, Training and Administration and collaborate with Operations, Safety and Training, Finance and partners. The roster is an 8/6 day shift, with coverage alongside the current Superintendent.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Business, Management or a related field.
• Current Standard 11, QLD Coal Board Medical and QLD Class C Driver Licence.
• Proven experience in contract management.
• Strong skills in managing contractor relationships and performance.
• Strong analytical and planning skills, with attention to detail.
• Experience managing budgets and planning resources 6-12 months ahead.
• Clear communication, and the ability to coach others and influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end workforce logistics function, including flights, accommodation and airfield operations.
• Forecast flight requirements with site departments and rostering teams, and optimise seat usage.
• Collaborate with accommodation and camp management to maximise room use and service standards.
• Be the main contact for logistics and accommodation contract partners.
• Set clear KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and approve payment claims and contract queries.
• Coach contract supervisors and frontline leaders to succeed in Carmichael environment.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve processes using lean methods.
• Lead safe work practices and foster a strong safety culture.

Bravus is looking for a Superintendent - Site Services to lead workforce logistics at Carmichael Mine. You'll make sure flights, accommodation and airfield operations for our site-based people are safe, efficient and cost-effective.

You’ll be based onsite at Carmichael Coal Mine and report to the Manager Safety, Training and Administration. You’ll work closely with Operations, Safety and Training, Finance, senior management and our contracting partners. The roster for this position is an 8/6 day shift roster. This position will work back-to-back with our current Superintendent to ensure everyday coverage and support onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end workforce logistics function, including flights, accommodation and airfield operations
• Forecast flight requirements with site departments and rostering teams, and make the most of every seat
• Work with accommodation and camp management contractors to improve room use and keep service standards high

Bravus Mining and Resources’ Carmichael mine is an open cut thermal coal mine in the North Galilee Basin, approximately 160 kilometres northwest of the town of Clermont.

Carmichael produces more than 12 million tonnes of thermal coal for the export market each year.More than 1400 people are engaged in permanent roles at Carmichael and workers travel to site on direct flights from Townsville, Rockhampton, Cairns, or Mackay (a flight time of approximately 55 minutes).
